Screen Printing

Screen printing is ideal for large graphical designs and is especially suited for printing onto cotton, making it the perfect choice for printed t-shirts. Unlike other methods of printing onto fabrics, screen printing is of the highest quality, and will not degrade when the clothing is washed.

The design is printed by covering the garment with a "screen" and applying coloured ink over the screen. The screen lets the ink through and onto the garment where required, before being carefully removed.

Screen printing is applied one colour at a time and in addition, a separate screen is required for each colour. As a result while screen printing provides the highest quality result, it may be uneconomic for multi-coloured designs and/or small print runs.

Screen Printing Set-Up Process and Costs

First you need to supply us with your desired design in EPS format. The higher the resolution, the sharper and cleaner the final print will be. The set-up cost is based upon the number of colours in the design. Each colour is £40.00, so a three-colour design would have a set-up cost of £120.00.

Note that in some instances, we may need to add a "flash colour". A flash colour is a bottom coat of white that sits under the final printed design. This is often necessary if the design is to be printed onto a dark garment. This flash colour is counted as a separate colour so an additional cost of £40.00 is applied to the set-up fee.

All screens are kept for a period of three months from your initial delivery date, there is a minimum of twenty-five garments and these must all be the same style with the same printed design.

The final quote would take into consideration the quantity and style of garments required and the supplied design and, of course, the number of colours in the design.
